Hi everyone,
I’ve been using the Aqara FP2 with Home Assistant for several months now, mainly for lighting and HVAC automations. Overall, I’m very satisfied with its performance, but I’ve noticed an issue: sometimes the sensor seems to pick up “presence” from something that isn’t a person.
For example, if there’s an object moving slightly (like a curtain, fan, or even shadows), the FP2 occasionally detects it as a person in one of my zones. This can lead to lights turning on when no one is actually there.
I’m wondering:
- Is there a way to adjust the detection sensitivity in the Aqara app to reduce these false triggers?
- Has anyone found an optimal placement or angle that helps the FP2 better ignore static or irrelevant objects?
- Do you combine it with another motion/occupancy sensor for better reliability?
Any tips or best practices would be very helpful.
Thanks!
