When one person is already in the room and a second person walks in and then leaves again, the FP2 sometimes reports the room as empty, even though the first person never left or if two people sit next to each other sometimes they get merged.
Questions
• Known limitation of the multi-target algorithm, or fixable via firmware?
• Any zone/sensitivity settings that reduce merge/re-assignment errors specifically?
• Workarounds?

Normally it should work… but what shows the live map? Where is the sensor mounted? Which height? More infos needed for a proper help
Unfortunately I have those problems too, especially if two people are sitting on the couch and one leaves.
Try lowering the sensitivity in some zones. Higher sensitivity does not always mean “hey, FP2, try looking for people INTENSIVELY”, it boosts power (which means it also gets more interference/noise) and processing/interpretation algorithms of those zones. Which means that the sensor will detect (and try to ignore) more false positives. In this case, the anti-interference algorithm kicks in and removes presence (when the sensor is unsure of the signal).
I haven’t had that problem yet. I have the “AI Person Detection” option turned off. It might be worth a try.
