Hi. My FP2 sensor, with nobody in the room, detects presence but no avatar on image.
@ESSCO4355 It sounds like your FP2 sensor is experiencing some false triggers, which is a common issue due to its high sensitivity to changes in energy within the room. This can happen if there are moving objects such as curtains, fans, or even plants that could be causing these false detections.
Here are a few steps you can take to address this issue:
-
Adjust Sensitivity Settings: Try modifying the sensor’s sensitivity settings. Lowering the sensitivity might help reduce the number of false triggers.
-
Mark Interference Sources: Use the “more” zone option to mark any potential interference sources in the room. This can help the sensor distinguish between actual human presence and other movements.
-
Check Sensor Placement: Ensure the sensor is installed correctly. It should be mounted at a height of 1.4-1.8 meters in a typical home setting. Avoid placing it near moving objects.
-
AI Learning Function: Use the AI learning function when the room is empty to help the sensor learn the space better.
Try these adjustments and see if it improves the situation. Feel free to share your results or any further questions you might have. The community is here to help!
how often to run the AI Learning?
@barney34 The frequency of running the AI Learning function isn’t explicitly mentioned in the reference information. However, it’s generally advisable to run AI Learning whenever there are noticeable changes in the room’s environment or setup, especially after moving furniture or adding new items that might affect the sensor’s detection capabilities. I’ve seen similar behavior with my FP2 when lighting conditions or reflections in the room changed — the sensor detected “presence” but didn’t show an avatar. Running AI Learning again after adjusting the environment (especially if something reflective was added or sunlight hits the sensor at a new angle) usually fixed it for me.
That usually means the FP2 is still detecting motion or micro-movements (like from air currents or pets) even if no one’s visible. Try lowering sensitivity, adjusting detection zones, or recalibrating.
