Does anyone here know how the AI spatial learning works and how it differs in the two protocols? I recall reading that Thread mode does have AI learning automatically on its own, and with Zigbee, it’s manually triggered. I would like to know some more specifics about the two.

You just explained what happens, although thread isn’t useable for me because it stays on presence regardless. Home assistant users report thread is ok.
I am using it in home assistant, it stays in detected for too long in my kitchen.
