Hi, I tried my FP300 in my bathroom, but the detections are very unreliable. I have updated to the latest firmware. It’s connected to my M2 hub with Zigbee. My bathroom is quite small (3 meters x 2.5 meters), has a lot of tiles, a bath, a shower with a glass door, two windows, a mirror, a sink and the ceiling is partially slanted. So maybe it’s a difficult area for the FP300 to “understand”. Do you guys have any tips? The FP300 works perfectly in my bedroom, where I use it daily now.

@dennis2 Bathrooms can be a tough environment for presence sensing (lots of reflective surfaces like glass/mirrors/tiles, plus odd angles), but there are a few FP300-specific things worth trying—especially since you’re already on Zigbee.
1) Revisit placement + angle (bathrooms are extra picky)
Try to mount it so the front of the FP300 faces only the area you actually want to monitor, and adjust the angle accordingly. Wall/corner/ceiling mounting are all OK—pick the one that gives the cleanest “view” of the target area.
If you’re aiming for wider coverage, a ~2 m install height with a slight downward tilt can help stabilize the detection area.
Also, avoid aiming directly at big reflective surfaces where possible (mirror, shower glass, large windows), since those can complicate the radar “scene”. (Not strictly FP300-only guidance, but it matches what you’re seeing.)
2) Tighten the detection range for a small room
FP300 can detect up to 6 meters, so in a 3 m × 2.5 m bathroom it’s usually better to reduce the effective range / exclude unnecessary areas to prevent “seeing” reflections or motion outside the intended zone.
3) Use AI Background Learning (since you’re on Zigbee)
Because you’re using Zigbee, you can run AI Background Learning to recalibrate when the bathroom is empty—this is specifically recommended when it gets stuck in false presence / unstable states.
Tip: do it when the room is completely unoccupied (and ideally when fans/ventilation are off).
4) Double-check obvious interference sources
Even in bathrooms, things like vents/fans can mess with presence sensing. Aqara’s guidance is to avoid installing near air conditioner vents / air purifiers / fans where possible.
If you can share how you currently mounted it (height, which wall/corner, and whether it faces the shower glass or the mirror), folks can usually suggest a “best” spot for a room with that layout.
