I’d like to run all my FP300s in Thread mode, but I lose the option to link them to my Aqara radiator thermostats as external temperature sensors. So the ones in rooms with eTRVs have to stay on Zigbee.
In rooms like the bathrooms, where I only need to see the temperature rather than use it to control an eTRV, that isn’t a problem. I’d just prefer to have every FP300 on Thread rather than use different modes depending on the room.
Does Aqara plan to support FP300s in Thread mode as external temperature sensors for its eTRVs? Could this work over Matter too, so it isn’t tied to one ecosystem?
If it’s planned, is there a rough timeframe? It would be useful to know whether this needs an Aqara firmware update or support in the Matter standard first.
