FP300 Sensitivity issue

I have purchased the FP300 presence sensor last year, and placed it in the bathroom for auto light on & off.

It has been working fabulously for sensing people presence, but unfortunately not as good when sensing people entering.

For example, sometimes when I enter the bathroom, I have to purposely wave my hand in order to get the lights on; but once its on, it works pretty nice for keeping it on until I leave

My question is, what can I do in order to improve this? Sensitivity is already set to high

Can I purchase a second one and maybe stick it to the ceiling? Will they work together if I set them in the same room in the App?

Attached with my bathroom layout for reference. Thank you!

Hi, welcome to the forum. Have you enabled this setting?

Hi! Thanks for replying
And yes, I have already turned on the “Infrared Radar Dual” option. Unfortunately it doesn’t help too much

Then look for a source of interference in the bathroom. Is there something like that there? Try the sensor in another room for a test. The way the sensor is placed (horizontal, vertical) also has an effect.

How about relocating the sensor at the bathtub corner (top right) and angling it at the door. I have it mounted this way. I bought a metal plate with an adhesive to it and attached it up high to my corner bathroom caddy’s pole. Then mounted the sensor angling downward towards the door. You have to remember that the sensors range is like a triangular cone, so it isn’t really covering your door in that existing corner it is in now.

Make sense!
Will do some experiment with those

That would be ideal, but unfortunately the top corners are where my bathtub is. So there will be water and steam and stuff, unsure if that might damage the device…

How high up on the wall is it mounted? Sounds like it’s not catching your motion right away.

The way this works in Dual Mode is that presence is first detected with the PIR and then maintained with mmWave. So you want to make sure it is positioned to catch your motion as soon as you walk in.
