Hey folks! Just wanted to share my little adventure turning a regular old bedroom into a smart comfort zone using Aqara gear. I’m definitely no tech guru—started out not knowing the difference between a hub and a sensor. Now? I’ve got a setup that dims lights when I walk in and even adjusts the temp before I hit the bed.
Started simple: an Aqara Hub M2, motion sensor, smart plug and a light bulb. Took a couple of YouTube vids and some trial and error (and maybe yelling at my phone once or twice) but I got the hang of it. My fave part? Setting a bedtime scene that closes my curtains, dims the lights to warm tone, and shuts off the plug on my phone charger automatically.
Biggest win tho—voice commands actually work with Siri thanks to Matter support! Kinda flexed on my partner by saying “Good night” and the room just… prepped itself. Still learning of course, but the Aqara + HomeKit combo is smooth once set up right.
Anyone else started from zero like me? Drop your wins (or fails lol), I’m looking to jazz it up more! Maybe some automation ideas?
