G100 Audio Issues

Just received new G100 cameras and installed 1 so far. Does anyone else have horrible audio quality with high pitched screeching and squeaking when watching playback?

This happens not only when no noise is being created by something else and is just an annoying sound. Also though, all cars that drive by or other sounds made sound horrible and cause loud noise when reviewing playback.

The issues and noise occurs not only in Aqara app but also Apple Home app as well.

Unsure if it is a software issue or device issue, but have waited to install other camera as I may be returning them and going back to Wyze.

Just opened and setup the second camera to test. Also seems to have audio issue. Seemed like I was able to eliminate it somewhat on second camera but never took it outside. Removed the accessory as I await response from tech support.

The cameras just seem to have a horrible sound like they’re underwater and also cause like muffled or high pitched echo during playback of the audio it picks up.

Poor quality cameras. Bought two cameras and the audio on each camera has horrible screeching, sounds like underwater, muffled, and inaudible. The camera also experienced regular ghosting/choppy video when people or vehicles would pass by.

One camera was placed outside to replace a previous Wyze Cam v3 (same location) that did not experience these issues, and the other camera was tested indoors to see if it had same issues and it did. The Wyze Cam v3 (not even the newer Pan v3 or Cam v4) is much older than this camera, was about same price when released, and quality seems miles ahead of the Aqara G100.

Contacted support team who requested 2 separate videos 1 days after another, and replied by their analysis that it is just environment noise. One of the videos has a car drive by slowly but sounds like it is a semi truck speeding by, and the other video was me recording a live viewing with horrible noise and a bird chirps in the background that echos and then sounds muffled. Seems like possibly a software issue that doesn’t want to be resolved on their end.

Decision is to return, never recommend, and go back to Wyze’s newer cameras. Only downside to Wyze is not having the Apple Home integration, but the overall quality and support help outweighs that in my opinion.

Audio outdoors is terrible. Birds, especially the bin chickens and vehicles seem over amplified and distorted. This is a shame because otherwise it’s a great little camera (G100). I’m going to try putting a thin piece of microphone foam over the mic to see what happens. Also Amazon refunded the full cost without quibbling so maybe this is a known issue to them.
