The RTSP Stream was working fine in Home Assistant and the VLC App, but lately the stream is no longer showing. I turn off the „RTSP LAN Preview“ and then back on in the Aqara App, but this has not helped. I double checked the URL and username + password, but everything seems fine. Does anyone have the same experience and a solution?
Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the G100, as I only have a G5 Pro camera. The URL has already been checked, but it might be worth checking it again to be on the safe side. However, I did notice that the URLs seem to have changed at some point. In some tutorials, I always saw links with “1520p”, but for me it was “ch4”. Also, check the IP address. If it is assigned dynamically, the camera may receive a similar but different IP address from the DHCP. To be sure, log in to the router to view the camera’s current IP address.
And I also always had problems with the preview in Home Assistant. I couldn’t get an image, and have to confirm in the preview that the stream is OK. I just confirmed it anyway, and it worked after that.
Have you already restarted the camera? It is common knowledge that restarting is the solution to everything. ![]()
Here’s a tip: on some routers with DHCP, you can set devices to always receive the same IP address. I’ve done this for a few devices, such as cameras, on my FritzBox. As an alternative, you can extend the validity period of an IP address. Assigned IP addresses are released again once their validity period has expired. Of course, it would be better if you could set a fixed IP, but as far as I know, that’s not possible.
Thanks for your tips! Yes, all my cameras have an assigned IP address, as do most of my IP based devices. The configuration in Home Assistant was also OK, so I restarted the camera (even though it was working fine in the Aqara App). Sometimes the simplest things fix the problems! The camera now works fine in all the systems!
Thanks!!!
