G3 disconnects frequently

Hi everyone
I am new in the forum
I have couple of g3 , e1 , m3 m1s2 , t2 lights and switches, g4 and doors and windows sensors
I noticed big connection problems with my g3 cams
I notified Aqara support and as usual they asked me to make sure the wifi modem is near the cameras and since I have 4 cameras I thought their request is not logic other wise I will remove the 4 cams from the four rooms and squeeze them all in the room where is the modem!
Yet I went and bought x50 deco 3 unites sufficient for a surface of 300 sq.m and my entire home is 80 sq.m
Now WiFi mesh network is in every corner of my house Yet the disconnection in g3 is same as before although wifi network is excellent!
Also , the NAS storage is not working, every time I try to connect the g3 to my NAS Synolog the message of log in verification is incorrect try again later… I know the username and pass are correct so I insisted several times and I managed to connect 2 out of four cams but it is really annoying to spend one hour trying to do something that it is simple and normally does not take more that a minute!
Now any advice on what I should do to connect the other two to NAS without having to retry one hour for each cam ?
Last question:
I know ticked that the g3 will make the sd card very warm to touch and sometimes it bricks the SD , I changed the sd card to v3 a2 ( latest ) yet and after two days of working fin the sd card was bricked beyond prefix and on local storage it shows now no SD card although the card is in !

Very frustrating
Thank you and sorry for the prolonging

@ramban77 Hi there, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you’re facing these frustrations with your G3 cams—let’s break down the issues and see what we can do.

NAS Storage Verification Failed

For the “Permission Verification Failed” error when connecting to your Synology NAS, here are some steps to try:

  1. Update the Aqara Home app to the latest version.
  2. Ensure the G3, router, and NAS are on the same local network.
  3. Double-check that the NAS account and password are correctly entered (even if you’re sure—small typos can happen!).
  4. Confirm your NAS supports SMB 2.0 or 3.0, as this is required for compatibility.
These steps are known to help with NAS connection issues for G3 cams .

SD Card Not Detected/Bricked

For the SD card issue, try:

  1. Updating the Aqara Home app to the latest version.
  2. Using a new SD card (not previously used in another device) to rule out compatibility issues with “used” storage .
While the reference info doesn’t specifically address overheating, ensuring the camera is in a well-ventilated area might help reduce warmth.

Frequent Disconnections

Since your WiFi mesh is strong, check if your router has “AP isolation” or “WiFi anti-squatter” settings enabled—these can block device communication even if the signal is good . Also, ensure the G3’s firmware is up to date (check via the Aqara Home app). If the issue persists, maybe try resetting one of the problematic cams and re-adding it to the app to refresh the connection.

Hope these tips help! If you try the NAS steps and still can’t connect the other two cams, feel free to share how it goes—others might have similar experiences.

@ramban77 Hi there, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you’re running into these frustrations with your G3 cams—let’s break down the issues and see what we can troubleshoot.

Frequent disconnections: Even with a strong mesh network, there are a few potential factors to check. The G3 may struggle if the Wi-Fi name or password contains special characters (like @, #, %, -, $, etc.)—try simplifying them to common characters if that’s the case. Also, ensure your router hasn’t enabled Wi-Fi anti-squatter settings or AP isolation, as both can block the camera from maintaining a stable connection. If you haven’t already, resetting the device and re-pairing might help too.

NAS storage issues: For the “login verification incorrect” error, first confirm your Aqara app is updated to the latest version. Next, double-check that the G3, router, and Synology NAS are on the same local network. It’s also worth verifying that your NAS supports SMB 2.0 or 3.0, as this is a requirement for the G3. Even if credentials are correct, these factors can cause verification failures.

SD card overheating/bricking: Unfortunately, the reference info doesn’t cover this specific issue. It might help to check if the SD card is properly seated, or try a different brand/model (if possible) to see if the issue persists. The community might have additional tips—feel free to share more details, and others might chime in!

If these steps don’t resolve things, reaching out to Aqara customer service could provide further tailored support. Thanks for sharing your experience—hopefully we can get these sorted out soon!

P.S. If you have more details on the SD card issue (like the brand or specific error messages), that might help the community offer more targeted advice.
