Hi, I have an issue when someone rings the doorbell. I have the G4 on the Aqara app and also on apple home. When someone rings the doorbell, by the time it allows you to talk the person is gone, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a video doorbell. What, if anything, am I doing wrong? Anyone else have this issue?
@derekjbranigan Hi there! It’s definitely frustrating when the intercom delay causes you to miss the caller—let’s try to troubleshoot this. A potential cause could be connection stability, which might affect the doorbell’s responsiveness. First, check if the distance between the G4 doorbell and the repeater is within the allowable range, or if there are nearby Wi-Fi co-frequency interference sources. Adjusting the repeater’s position or modifying the Wi-Fi channel could help improve the connection. Additionally, since you’re using Apple Home, try restarting the Apple Home hub and the G4 Doorbell to rule out temporary connection glitches.
Have you noticed if the delay is more prominent in the Aqara app, Apple Home, or both? Feel free to share more details—other community members might have encountered similar situations and can chime in! If the issue persists after these checks, Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.
So the doorbell is about a meter away from the repeater so that’s not an issue. There is no wifi issues or sources of interference nearby. So I reset the apple home hub and will see if that fixes this issue.
@derekjbranigan Thanks for sharing the updates! Resetting the Apple Home hub is a good step—hope that sorts out the delay issue for you. Feel free to swing back and let us know how it goes after testing—your experience might help others too
