Hi, I installed my Aqara G4 yesterday. It is wired, and no batteries are inside the case. This worked for roughly half a day, but since then, the connection has been lost. The app says that it can’t connect.
I have tried resetting it, changing my wifi to 2.4ghz, etc. But for some reason, it won’t work anymore. There was no light on the doorbell at all. The day after, a blue light flashed for some time on the doorbell, but this stopped eventually.
I cannot seem to figure out why it does not work. Hope you can help me!!! Thanks in advance
Hi @coolenjoris1 , if the call is flashing blue, it means that you have a wifi problem. You need to reset the network (press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds) and reconnect it to 2.4 GHz. If you are using a combined 2.4+5 GHz network, it is better to separate it. Make sure that 2.4 is separate from 5 GHz.
It is recommended to keep the internal G4 module within 5 meters of the router and no more than 5 meters from the external module.
If this doesn’t work, you can try resetting the G4 to its factory settings (by pressing the reset button briefly 10 times) and re-adding it to Aqara home.
Thanks, Raman, for the quick response. I will definitely try that. However, it is not constantly blinking; most of the time, it does not flash at all. The chime does not ring either when I press the doorbell.

He’s probably not online, which is why he’s not calling.
Hello friend
You can provide some pictures or videos to show the installation distance and location of the doorbell and chime. From your description, if the outdoor doorbell flashes the blue light and then goes out, it is a normal phenomenon. Flashing the blue light that it is connecting to the indoor chime, you can observe how long the blue light flashes (in the case of a good connection with the indoor chime, it usually flashes for a few seconds before going out). In addition, if the light ring of the outdoor doorbell can light up when press the button , the doorbell works normally. If the indoor chime does not ring when the bell rings, this may be a problem. Perhaps the connection distance between the doorbell and chime is too far, or it may be another problem. You can try to move the chime close to the doorbell to observe if it works properly. If not, you can contact Aqara Official customer service to get assistance, provide with the country/region where the account and device are bound.
I followed all the advice given by @Raman.V, but the issue persists. The chime is located within 2 meters of the doorbell. When I inserted batteries, the doorbell suddenly worked, but it does not function when wired. I checked the voltage, and it remains consistent at 9.6 volts, which is what the batteries provide. Unfortunately, I cannot use batteries because the screw to open the case is positioned against the wall. As a result, I believe my product is defective. I have emailed the support team to request a replacement. @Aqara_PM_Donie Uploading: IMG_5610.mov…
I noticed from the video you provided that you are using an AC 9.6V external power supply to power G4. Please pay attention to the nameplate information of this device: AC power requires a 12-24V power supply, and the power supply you provided is below this value and needs to be replaced. When you use a DC 9.6V power supply to power the doorbell, there is no problem.
