Hello everyone, after much trial and error, I finally got my g410 working with both homekit and homeassistant with all the features I need in each platform. I figured I would share this with you all since I know there is a lot of confusion on how to make it all work seamlessly. Let me know if any questions:
Goal:
Apple Home → full camera support + notifications (HomeKit Secure Video, doorbell alerts).
Home Assistant → automations (ring events, motion, mute switches, etc.) + optional RTSP video if you want local streaming.
Dual Setup Guide for Aqara G410
Reset & Prepare
If you’ve already paired the G410, reset it (hold button until LED blinks).
Install/launch the Aqara app and ensure the G410 is updated to the latest firmware.
Pair with Apple Home (HomeKit)
In the Apple Home app, scan the HomeKit QR code from the G410.
Add it to your preferred Home and assign it to a room.
Confirm:
You see live video.
Doorbell button rings show notifications.
Motion detection (if enabled) appears.
(Optional) Turn on HomeKit Secure Video if you have iCloud+.
Now Apple Home handles video + notifications.
Enable Matter Multipairing for Home Assistant
In the Aqara app:
Go to Profile → Connected Ecosystems → Matter → Add to another ecosystem.
Select Generate Pairing Code.
In Home Assistant:
Go to Settings → Devices & Services → Add Integration → Matter.
Choose Add Device with Code, and scan the code generated by the Aqara app.
Wait for HA to add the G410.
Initially, you may only see a basic “Identify” entity.
Expose Doorbell Events via
Signal Sync
Matter doesn’t always expose the doorbell press. To fix this:
In the Aqara app:
Go to Profile → Connected Ecosystems → Matter → Scene & Signal Sync.
Create a new Signal:
IF → Doorbell ringing.
THEN → Add to Matter, name it something like “Doorbell Pressed”.
Home Assistant will now show this as a binary sensor (or event entity).
You can use it in HA automations, e.g.:
Flash lights when the doorbell rings.
Announce via smart speakers.
Log visits.
(Optional) Add RTSP Stream to Home Assistant
If you want video in HA too:
In the Aqara app, enable RTSP streaming (requires the doorbell to be wired).
In Home Assistant, add a Generic Camera integration:
camera:
platform: generic
name: Aqara G410
stream_source: rtsp://:@:554/ch1
You’ll now have video in HA, separate from the Apple Home integration.
End Result
Apple Home → Full HomeKit doorbell experience (camera, button, notifications, HSV).
Home Assistant → Automations (via Signal Sync + Matter) + optional local RTSP camera stream.

I’ve followed the Apple Home part and have the G410 added to Apple Home on my iPhone. I can see the live video feed and the doorbell works, but I do not get any doorbell notifications on the phone when someone presses the button. Permissions for notifications for the Home app are enabled in iOS, so that part should be fine.
I don’t have neither HomePod nor AppleTV.
Do you maybe know what I might be missing in the Home app / camera settings so that doorbell press notifications start coming through?
In the Home App tap on the Doorbell live video feed when open and looking at Live video tap the cog wheel icon top of the screen, scroll down to Status and Notifications and be sure Activities Notifications toggle is on.
That setting is unique for each device and you won’t get notifications unless it’s toggled on.
I seem to always forget, in order for HomeKit to work properly you need a HomeKit Hub to process requests as I re-read you mentioned you don’t have one. You will have to rely on the Aqara app for notifications.
