G410 Battery life

What type of battery life has everyone been getting with their doorbell? I needed to move mine and switch to batteries instead of hardwired.

We don’t have a ton of events, maybe 5 to 10 recordings per day. Everything is hooked up to HomeKit and I rarely view the camera live.

I would say that I am getting just under a month on rechargeable IKEA batteries, the 2400 mAh.

I am currently testing these Li-ion batteries: Keeppower AA P1450I3 1.5V 4700mWh Li-ion 3133mAh in the G410. I can’t say much about their overall endurance just yet, but they have been going for over a month now. Previously, I used the Hixon AA 1.5V 3500mWh 2333mAh, which also only lasted for about a month. I had read nothing but good things about both batteries in reviews.

The annoying thing, however, was that the Hixon batteries didn’t trigger a low battery warning because the voltage drops instantly when the battery is empty. This is supposed to be different with the Keeppower batteries, as they simulate a voltage drop similar to an alkaline battery. I’ll report back with more details later, once the batteries finally run out.

By the way, the alkaline batteries that came with it lasted a month before the low battery warning came on. This automatically puts the G410 into power-saving mode, and from then on, they actually managed to last for another two weeks.

Hello @NPCYoungBoy
The manufacturer does not recommend using 1.2V rechargeable batteries in the doorbells. It is better to use high-quality 1.5V batteries—rechargeable ones are fine, provided they are 1.5V—and you will have no issues; they will last for 4–6 months.

Personally I’m using Energizer Max from Rural King(best price on batteries) they’re lasting me 3-4 months.

Energizer Max worked for me for 2 months, then decided to hardwire

This is exactly what I found.

I found it best to have two sets of rechargeable 1.5v batteries, so that I could swap them straight over when one set died. I usually got 3-4months, but did find they drained quite quickly when we had a particularly stormy season and the sensor was continually being set off as something present…

I’ve now gone over to having them powered, jut by buying the plug from the Aqara website. It comes with a pretty long cable, so can just be plugged in without actually having to do any wiring installation work.

Thanks all! I will test a variety of batteries and post the results once I have them!
