G410 Camera Detection Issues and Solutions

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the G410 camera and hopefully get some insights or tips from the community.

We recently upgraded from the G4 to the G410 and were really impressed with the improved detection capabilities. The camera spotted our delivery guy perfectly, from when he arrived at the truck to when he dropped off the package and drove away. It was a huge improvement over our old G4, which often missed events or detected them too late.

However, today I noticed something odd. I received a delivery notification email, but when I checked, the package was on the porch without any recorded footage of the delivery. The camera did record me opening the door to retrieve the package and even captured some passing cars, but there was no sign of the delivery truck or person. This was puzzling, especially since the settings seemed fine.

Here’s what my current settings are:

  • Face sensitivity: Medium
  • Detection frequency: 15 seconds
  • Lingerer proximity: ON
  • Duration of stay: 1 second
  • Detection range: 4 meters

I’m not entirely sure how the Face duration setting works. Should it be set in minutes instead of seconds? And what’s the best practice for the lingerer duration?

After some research and tweaking, I found that adjusting the lingerer duration to a few minutes instead of seconds helped improve detection. It seems the camera now captures events more consistently. I’m still experimenting with the settings to find the perfect balance between sensitivity and false alarms.

If anyone has similar experiences or tips, I’d love to hear them! It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m really enjoying how much more reliable the G410 is compared to our previous model.

Thanks to everyone in the community for sharing their knowledge and experiences—it’s been invaluable!
