Mac user here with new Video Doorbell G410, G5Pro test Camera and w200 Thermostat & Hub. Having a lot of problems getting the G5Pro w/POE online.
I’d like to recommend two customer options:
- I am going to use Apple Home (or other software) as my primary SmartHome interface.
- I am going to use the Aqara App as my primary SmartHome interface.
For Interface option #1: please only show your customers the settings required to use the Cameras or Doorbells in Apple Home (or Samsung Things, Amazon Alexa, etc.).
The entire idea of this new cross-platform Matter process is to NOT have to learn each manufacturer’s custom interface if we don’t have to. Your current process is too reliant upon navigating and learning your custom interface to find all the necessary settings to just use the App to pass-through connections to the App we already know. We appreciate all the work you’ve done on it, but I’ve already spent way more time in the Aqara App when I was hoping to be working back in Apple Home by now, at the end of two long installation days.
Meanwhile, I’m still trying to figure out why (after I set up a custom Home) — I now don’t see it presented on screen by the App. I only see it on a menu checklist where I only can access it’s settings. When launched, the Aqara App keeps opening to a Home called “New Board” instead of the Home I set up.
Either I’m daffy or something in this PC-like interface doesn’t fully make sense in the Mac world. So I’m stumped trying to find all the relevant settings buried behind multiple screens and menus. Even this very screen on an M1 series iPad Pro expands and covers the buttons below it, and I can’t read them to access or find a Send Button. Hope I do…
