G410 doorbell with apple home kit

Hi all,

I’m about to install the Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 and would love some real-world feedback from owners who use it with Apple Home.

My setup: Apple TV as home hub, iCloud+ for HomeKit Secure Video, Nuki Smart Lock Ultra on the front door, Homey Pro as automation hub.

A few questions:

  1. How reliable is HomeKit Secure Video recording, especially on battery power?
  2. How fast do doorbell notifications and the picture-in-picture view on Apple TV show up after someone presses the button?
  3. Battery or wired: how long does the battery last for you, and did you notice a difference in HKSV performance?
  4. Any issues with motion sensitivity or false alerts when the door faces a busy sidewalk?
  5. Anything you wish you’d known before buying?

HKSV has worked great for me, but mine is powered, not battery.
The picture on my TV seems instantaneous with the push. I have had no problem with sidewalk traffic but I don’t know how far away your sidewalk is. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.
