G410 major battery drain

Have been using the G410 for best part of 10 months, all has been great and battery life has been 2-3 months.

Last week my batteries died, replaced them with new AA’s and within 24 hours they needed replacing, thought they might have been dud batteries so replaced them again, 24 hours later the same thing happened.

Got some expensive Energizer ones at the weekend and replaced, these lasted 4 days and again today I have a low battery warning and they need to be replaced.

Nothing has changed on my settings, only new firmware installed. Is anyone else getting really poor battery recently?

That is a big change from your previous 2–3 months. To help distinguish an actual drain from a low-battery indication, does the doorbell stop working soon after the warning, or does it continue operating?

A useful comparison would be the number of recorded/detection events before and after the update, plus any repeated connection losses around the same time. Even with unchanged settings, those observations could show whether the camera is waking more often. Could you share the exact firmware versions shown for both the indoor chime and outdoor doorbell, and the battery type used (not just the brand)?

I would keep those details together for the support ticket already opened here. The timing makes the firmware worth investigating, but it does not yet establish the cause. I have helped install both G4 and G410 units, but I do not have a confirmed fix for this sudden-drain issue.

So I replace the batteries this morning at around 8:26am and at 11:57am I got a message that my battery is low.

Looking at my Aqara app, I have lingerer alerts constantly from 8:27am right up to 11:57 am, I scrolled for around 7 minutes in the app to view each one, but there is no lingerer, and Apple Home did no report any of these. Seems to be an issue with the detection on the Aqara side of things.

Checked yesterday and exactly the same thing, constant lingerer detections, but nothing in the video.

I have the same issue!

Following this!

Do you by chance know when the last firmware update was? I wonder if something changed or if the mmwave sensor has just gone bad and is constantly firing.

Can you experiment by turning off the mmwave sensor - under Lingering Detection > Proximity Trigger? Just to narrow down the issue.

Support have asked me to turn on low power mode and monitor for 1-2 days, so will see how the current batteries last (they are on 20% at the moment)
