G410: What does the security system that is added in Apple Home

When adding the G410 into HomeKit it not only adds the camera and the hub but also a security system. Anyone know what this does?

Thanks in Advance!

I suspect it’s like the ones exposed by the G2H Pro camera hubs. There you can set up alarm conditions in the Aqara app based on connected sensors. And the security system exposed to Homekit then allows you to enable the different alarm modes

Hello @Doeppi
The Aqara smart home system has 4 security modes: “24x7 Security”, “Security: at home”, “Security: away from home”, “Security: night”. They can be turned on manually from the application, or automatically using specified time intervals.

I also don’t understand what this is. I get that the “security” comes in several flavors, and switching between them can be automated. But what does it do? Why would I want to be in away from home mode vs at home? There’s no documentation on the consequences of these modes. Perhaps it only has meaning if I subscribe to Aqara cloud services? (Which I don’t.) If that’s the case, how can I make this go away? Or if that’s not it, what does it do?

These modes are made so that you create automation when you are at home, for example, so that the cameras do not record, the alarm is turned off, etc. When you are not at home, for example, the cameras turn on continuous recording, the house is armed (sensors, motion, lock, leak sensors, alarm), etc.

This is it. I set it up in the Aqara App: Aqara Door sensor is now connected to G410 which can sound an alarm. This whole thing can be armed or unarmed via the HomeKit security system.

This is awesome. Been on the fence about upgrading from G4. More I see, the more it seems like a no brainer for my setup
