My g410 video doorbell won’t turn on after I replaced the batteries.
Before I changed them the camera stopped working (wouldn’t detect any motion) but it would still register a doorbell ring if the button was pressed.
So I decided to change the batteries as ther were getting low.
Now it won’t turn on at all, no lights at all (chime seems to be connected to the network. And still functions as a hub for my other devices)
Tried resetting both doorbell and chime. Chime can be reset but the doorbell has no life (no lights)
Anyone experience this before?
@kelanchadwick I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your G410 doorbell! Let’s try to troubleshoot this step by step based on the details you provided.
First, let’s check the battery-related steps, as this is often the root cause after a battery replacement. For the G410, the recommended battery type is 5号 (AA) batteries . When replacing batteries, it’s important to remove the old batteries and wait for 1 minute before inserting new ones—this helps reset the power circuit . Sometimes, residual power can interfere with the new batteries, so this waiting step is key.
Additionally, ensure the new batteries are alkaline (avoid rechargeable or low-quality batteries, as they might not provide sufficient power) . Double-check the battery polarity (positive/negative ends) to make sure they’re inserted correctly—reverse polarity can prevent the doorbell from powering on.
If the doorbell still has no lights after these steps, and since you mentioned it’s not responding to reset attempts, you might also want to check if you’re using an external power supply (the G410 supports both battery and power supply ). If you have an external transformer connected, verify that the power is stable and the wires are securely attached .
If none of these resolve the issue, please reach out to the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Home > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please

Let me know if you try the battery steps first—hoping it’s a simple fix!
Hi @kelanchadwick
No lights is not a good sign! You have to possibility to put it on a trafo by wiring it and see if it comes back?
Otherwise I would contact the support - maybe a replacement is needed

Update 2 months afer.
If I take the batteries out and leave overnight the camera will power on the next day when I put the batteries back in. This seems to happen once every month now.
I have tried all the recommended trouble shooting recommend by aqara but this is the only thing that works
OK, so you already contacted the support?
This way the doorbell shouldn’t work!
