Hi,
I have created a scene in the Aqara app, where the G5 Camera turns off. I believe this is the same as privacy mode, like seen for other Aqara cameras.
When I send the scene to HomeKit (home-scene or Siri-shortcut), it doesn’t do anything when activated. The camera is still active in HomeKit.
Am I doing something wrong?

No you are not doing anything wrong, as far as I can tell that is how Apple Home works when Aqara puts a camera in sleep mode. It’s odd/weird and probably needs fixed someday but Apple does not seem to be cutting edge when it comes to the Smart Home.
Yeah, that’s normal, I can see it easily with my E1 since it will turn to the wall, when in privacy mode, and I open it in the home app, it goes out of privacy mode just while you are checking the camera, and goes back into privacy mode after you stop watching the camera on the Home app.
Hi Christian, I’m having the same issue and the only work arround I found was to plug in my G5Pro (Wifi and not the POE version) in a Smart plug and creat an automation to turn off that plug when I’m in privacy mode… Not pretty but effective I guess !
