G5 Pro times out after less than 10 seconds

I just installed a G5Pro PoE; I spent hundreds of dollars to have an ethernet cable run out to my garage front… but the camera drops out after less than 10 seconds.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, were you able to resolve it?

Is this perhaps a power issue? The ethernet cable’s only about 20-25 feet long, and the camera’s the only one using the PoE injector.

I get the same issue in both the Aqara app and in Homekit; video works for about 5-8 seconds, then it fails. I can get it back, but it always fails again.

I would hate to bail on this camera but I’m out of ideas; thanks,

PROBLEM SOLVED!

It turns out that my electrician, who installed the ethernet cable and put ends on the wire, mixed up wires. I realized there was a wire issue when I plugged the camera inside with a different cable–and it worked perfectly and never went offline.

So I had the electrician come back and fix the wire and the camera is working perfectly.

My ONLY nit to pick with the camera is that it doesn’t have good left-to-right adjustment, and I’m going to have to put a shim up on the garage wall to turn the camera a little bit…

But other than that, a great investment.
