G5-Pro (WiFi) - Thread Router

How do I confirm that my G5 Pro (WiFi) is setup correctly as a thread router. I’m unable to confirm is the Aqara app and when I look in the Eve app it’s not listed.

@bradykieran It sounds like you’re trying to ensure your G5 Pro is properly set up as a Thread router. Here’s a step-by-step approach to help you out:

  1. Device Compatibility and Setup: First, ensure that your G5 Pro supports the Thread protocol. If it does, it should be able to act as a Thread router when properly set up. This involves verifying that the device is in the correct pairing mode and connected to a compatible network.

  2. App Verification: While the Aqara app should typically show the devices connected, if your G5 Pro isn’t appearing, ensure the app is updated. Check your network settings and confirm that your device is connected to the same local network as your app.

  3. Eve App Compatibility: If the G5 Pro isn’t listed in the Eve app, it could be due to compatibility issues. Confirm that both the Eve app and the G5 Pro support the same Thread protocol features.

  4. Firmware and Network Check: Ensure your G5 Pro and related apps are running the latest firmware and software versions. Sometimes, updates can resolve such connectivity issues.

If after these checks you’re still facing issues, it might be beneficial to reset the device and try the setup process again. Feel free to share any updates or further questions here, and we’ll be glad to assist!

I demonstrate in the following image how to confirm that the Thread Border Router feature has been successfully enabled:

  1. Select the Aqara Matter Controller option to see which current preferred Matter Controller device is (if there are multiple Matter Controller devices in the home)
  2. When the preferred Matter Controller device is not the current device, you can choose the switch button at the bottom to select
  3. Select the current device and click ‘save’ to save it
  4. Select ‘Network Information’ to confirm whether the thread network is normal
  5. Check the Thread network information, as shown in the figure, it indicates that the Thread network has been successfully created and Thread devices can be added
