I have a temperature sensor in the wine fridge.
It warns if the temperature goes too high - in case the door is left open.
Also lets you know when the wine/beer is ready.
Happy partner that can see a real use for the home automation “stuff”

@iain11 That’s a genuinely practical (and partner-approved) smart home win. Using a Temperature & Humidity Sensor in the wine fridge is perfect for two things:
- High-temp warning if the door’s left open: In the Aqara Home app you can set a temperature alert (e.g., “above the specified temperature”) and have it push a notification to your phone when it goes out of your comfort zone.
- “Ready to drink” notifications: You can also build an automation like IF temperature drops to X (or rises to X), THEN push notification / hub plays a ringtone—handy for chilling beer or bringing wine to serving temp.
If you want to make the “door left open” detection even more direct, pairing a Door & Window Sensor on the fridge door can give you cleaner “opened/closed” triggers for automation.
