Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating my GE Z-Wave dimmer switch into my SmartThings setup. It’s been a mostly smooth process, but there’s one issue that’s been bugging me and I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered this or has any suggestions.
So, here’s the situation: I’ve installed a GE Z-Wave dimmer switch in my kitchen. It works perfectly when I toggle it manually or through the SmartThings app. However, I’ve noticed that after turning it off, whether through the app or physically pressing the switch, it sometimes turns back on after a few seconds. It’s not consistent, but it’s happened a few times now, which is a bit frustrating.
I’ve checked the event logs, and it seems like the switch is registering an automatic on command even after I’ve turned it off. The logs show the appropriate source for the “off” event, but the “on” events are coming from an unknown trigger. I’m wondering if there’s a setting I’m missing or if this could be a firmware issue.
Here are a few questions I have:
- Has anyone else experienced similar behavior with GE dimmer switches?
- Could this be related to interference from other devices on the Z-Wave network?
- Are there any specific settings or configurations within SmartThings that might help prevent this?
I’d really appreciate any insights or advice you might have. It’s been a great journey setting up my smart home, and I’m excited to continue learning and improving my setup!
Thanks in advance for your help!
