I recently came across a fantastic device type handler (DTH) for the GE Jasco Z-Wave Plus On/Off Switch. This switch offers a lot of functionality, and I wanted to share my experience and insights with the community.
The DTH includes features like the ability to change the indicator status and inverted settings directly from the main page. Commands for these settings are also exposed, which is super handy if you’re using a tool like CoRE for automation. Additionally, the switch supports adding associations to groups 2 and 3, which can be really useful for setting up more complex scenes and automations.
One of the standout features for me is the double-tap functionality. It’s exposed as a button, which means you can trigger events in CoRE or other automation platforms simply by double-tapping the switch. This adds a whole new layer of interactivity to the device.
I’ve been using this switch in my home, and it’s been a pleasure to work with. The setup was straightforward, and the device has been reliable ever since. If you’re looking to enhance your Z-Wave setup with some smart switches, I highly recommend checking out this DTH.
For those interested in diving deeper, the GitHub repository linked in the original post has all the details. It’s a great example of how community-driven development can really enhance the functionality of our smart home devices.
Let me know if you have any questions or if you’ve found any other cool features that I might have missed! Happy automating! ![]()
