GE Smart Outlet Pairing Issues and Solutions

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I must say, it’s been quite an adventure! I recently picked up a set of GE Duplex Receptacles from Lowe’s, hoping to integrate them into my existing smart home ecosystem. However, I’ve run into a bit of a snag with pairing them to my new hub. Let me share my experience and see if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has some tips to help me out!

I previously had these outlets paired with an Iris hub, which I’m now decommissioning. After removing them from the Iris system, I attempted to pair them using several Jasco profiles, as GE rebrands Jasco devices. Unfortunately, no luck so far. The model number, 45636, is listed as supported, but the pairing process just doesn’t seem to work. I’m a bit confused since they’re listed as compatible on some forums, but there’s no specific device profile available. Has anyone else faced this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?

On a lighter note, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my Wyze Cam Floodlight v2. The latest firmware update, version 4.53.2.9149, has noticeably improved system stability. It’s been a reliable addition to my security setup, and the night vision is top-notch! I’d love to hear if others have noticed similar improvements with their Wyze devices.

Another topic I’ve been curious about is the integration of MyQ garage door systems. I have a MyQ garage door opener, and I’m wondering if there’s any progress or plans to integrate this with Home Assistant. It would be fantastic to have seamless control over my garage door right alongside my other smart devices!

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with automations to streamline my daily routine. For instance, I’ve set up a system where my lights adjust based on whether the thermostat is in heating or cooling mode. While the concept is solid, I’ve run into a few hiccups with the conditional logic. If anyone has tips or success stories with similar automations, I’d be grateful for the insight!

Smart home integration is such a dynamic field, and it’s amazing to see how these devices can enhance our lives. I’m hopeful that with some troubleshooting and the collective wisdom of this community, I can overcome these hurdles and continue to expand my smart home setup. Thanks in advance for any advice or shared experiences!

Cheers,
