GE Switch Integration and Automation Tips

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to share some experiences and seek advice on integrating my GE smart devices with my home automation setup. I’ve been experimenting with adding a GE 14288 outlet and a GE 40 Amp Z-Wave switch, but I’ve hit a few bumps along the way.

First off, I had this outlet working perfectly before, but after a factory reset, I can’t seem to get it back into my system. I tried using zwave2mqtt to check the controller, but it didn’t list the deleted node ID. Any tips on how to recover this node? It would be a shame to have to replace it if there’s a workaround.

On the automation front, I’m trying to set up my garage doors to open based on my phone’s presence. The idea is simple: if only my phone is detected, open one door; if only my wife’s is detected, open the other. But the tricky part is when both phones are present—I want it to default to opening a specific door. Has anyone tackled a similar setup? I’m using SmartThings, and while the basics are covered, this conditional logic is a bit beyond my current setup.

Another thing I’m curious about is integrating my Xiaomi Aqara devices with Homey. I’ve heard great things about Homey’s compatibility, but I’m not entirely sure how seamless the process is, especially for someone like me who’s still getting the hang of these integrations.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully navigated these kinds of setups or has tips on troubleshooting GE devices. Whether it’s a nifty workaround for the outlet issue or advice on structuring my automation rules, your insights would be invaluable!

Thanks in advance for your help, and happy automating! :rocket:
