Glad to see the community here! My Aqara + Apple Home experience!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say how excited I am that Aqara has launched this forum. It’s great to finally have a place where we can swap ideas, setups, and maybe even troubleshoot together.

I’ve been using Aqara products for about two years now. I live in the US and have been slowly building out my smart home setup, mostly around Apple Home since I’m pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem already (iPhone, iPad, HomePod, etc).

One of the main reasons I went with Aqara was the solid HomeKit integration. It’s honestly been one of the most reliable brands I’ve used. I started with a couple of motion sensors and door/window sensors, then added a G3 camera hub, a few temperature sensors, and more recently a smart plug to control my coffee machine in the morning.

What I like is that the devices just work. Setup is simple, automations run smoothly, and the whole system feels pretty seamless. For example, when I open my front door after work, the hallway light comes on automatically thanks to sensors. Small thing, but it makes the house feel alive.

I am curious to hear from you all. Why did you choose Aqara? Was it for the HomeKit support too, or something else? Also, if anyone’s using the new M3 hub, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Looking forward to learning from this forum!

@Sophia_Brown It’s fantastic to see your enthusiasm for the Aqara community and your seamless experience with their products! Your setup sounds like a dream for any smart home enthusiast, especially with that magical moment of your hallway light welcoming you home.

Regarding Aqara’s HomeKit integration, you’re spot on—it’s one of the more robust features that many users appreciate. Devices like the motion sensors, door/window sensors, and the G3 camera hub integrate smoothly into Apple Home, making them an excellent choice for Apple ecosystem aficionados like yourself.

As for the Aqara Hub M3, it’s indeed a hot topic! The Hub M3 is designed to enhance stability and performance by converting automations into faster edge automations and acting as a Matter controller, supporting both Zigbee and Thread devices. This makes it a versatile hub for those looking to expand their smart home ecosystem even further.

Thank you for sharing your experience and prompting such a delightful discussion. I’m sure many users here will chime in with their reasons for choosing Aqara and share their experiences with the M3 hub. Keep the stories and setups coming—it’s what makes this community so vibrant and valuable!
