I’ve got a mix of Zigbee devices and want to add an Aqara device. I currently use a cheap Amazon Zigbee hub, but I’m switching to Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4B. What’s a good, affordable Zigbee USB dongle that’s easy to buy in Germany, works well with Home Assistant on the Pi, and supports a wide range of devices, including Aqara?
The Sonoff Zigbee USB Dongle Plus, P or E versions are pretty solid.
In regard to device support, that mainly comes down to whether you use ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT rather than the adapter.
If you’ve got suitable network setup I’d highly recommend the SMLIGHT SLZB-06 over a USB dongle though.
if you plan to use Zigbee2MQTT check this page first: Supported Adapters | Zigbee2MQTT
I am using this one CC2652R stick - slae.sh for a few years already and had no problems, but might be better addapters now.
What means suitable? I currently have a frizbox as DSL modem, edgerouter after that and than unify wifi7 access point(wich the Raspi is conectet to right now)
It’s best PoE powered and with a static IP address assigned. Some ISP routers won’t let you set static IPs and such.
