The holiday season is the perfect time to experiment with smart lighting, and I’m thrilled to share my recent experience with GOVEE’s RGBIC Floodlights and how seamlessly they integrate with Alexa. This combination has truly elevated my home’s festive ambiance!
Getting Started
I began by setting up the GOVEE floodlights, which were surprisingly easy to install. The included adhesive strips made attaching them to my outdoor surfaces a breeze. Pairing them with my existing Alexa setup was just as straightforward— Alexa automatically detected the devices and guided me through the pairing process.
Customizing My Setup
One feature I particularly enjoy is the ability to create custom scenes using Alexa. For instance, I programmed a ‘Festive Cheer’ scene that cycles through vibrant colors and intensities, perfect for entertaining guests. The integration with Alexa’s routines has also been a game-changer—I can now trigger these scenes with simple voice commands or even schedule them to activate at specific times.
A Little Challenge
Initially, I noticed that lowering the brightness below 66% caused a slight flickering. After a quick search, I found that adjusting the brightness in smaller increments helped mitigate this issue. It’s a minor quirk that doesn’t detract from the overall experience.

If you’re considering a similar setup, I recommend experimenting with different color combinations and scenes to find what works best for your space. Also, take advantage of Alexa’s automation features to create seamless, hands-free experiences.
