Govee Lighting Setup & Philips Hue Automation Tips

Hello, fellow smart home enthusiasts! :star2: I wanted to share my recent experiences with setting up Govee lights and automating Philips Hue bulbs in my home. It’s been an exciting journey filled with both challenges and successes!

First, I’d like to talk about my Govee lighting setup. I recently installed a cluster of Govee Pixel lights to create a vibrant ambiance in my living room. The process was straightforward thanks to their user-friendly app, and the customizable color options are simply amazing! However, I did run into an issue where the app could only connect to a subset of the bulbs at a time. After some research, I discovered that this might be due to Bluetooth limitations. To work around this, I’m now using a Raspberry Pi setup to manage all my bulbs seamlessly. If anyone has tips for optimizing this, I’d love to hear them!

On the Philips Hue front, I’ve been working on automating my bathroom lights using Home Assistant. The goal was to have the lights turn on at 75% brightness when the motion sensor detects movement. While the automation worked, the actual brightness was only 1%, which was quite frustrating. After some troubleshooting, I realized the issue was with how the brightness value was being interpreted by the Hue bridge. By adjusting the scene configuration in Home Assistant, I was able to resolve this. It’s a great reminder of how important it is to double-check the settings and ensure they’re compatible with the devices!

I’d also like to mention the Aeotec Keyfob setup. I successfully paired it with my SmartThings hub, but setting it up in the Classic App was a bit tricky. I tried using Routines and Button Controller, but nothing triggered the actions I wanted. After some digging, I found that the issue was with how the buttons were mapped. A quick adjustment in the settings fixed everything, and now my Keyfob works perfectly with my smart devices!

To wrap up, I wanted to share a quick tip for anyone struggling withsimilar issues: always check the device documentation, test settings in a controlled environment, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for help. We’re all here to learn and grow together!

If anyone has additional tips or experiences to share, especially regarding Govee lights or Philips Hue automation, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create smarter, more efficient homes. :rocket::bulb:
