I’ve never been one to decorate outside for Christmas, but this year, the Govee icicle lights changed everything! 
I know it’s not perfectly balanced, but I think it’s awesome for my first attempt. I’m already planning to upgrade to permanent outdoor lights next year. 
To make it even more special, I set up a camera in my yard so my mom could see the lights from her house. I also took one of my Echo Shows to her place, so she can access my cameras and control all my Govee devices through Alexa. 
We even created a fun Alexa routine where if there’s an emergency, she can say a specific phrase, and certain Govee lights will turn on in my house. It’s a small way to ensure she feels connected and safe. 
One funny thing that happened was when she started playing random songs in my house through Alexa. I was sitting here, and suddenly Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive started playing! It’s these little moments that make everything worth it. 
For anyone looking to integrate Govee devices with Alexa, I highly recommend exploring the routines and automation features. It’s amazing how much you can do with a little creativity!
