Govee Outdoor String Lights 2 Installation & Tips

Hey everyone! :star2: I just wanted to share my recent experience with the Govee Outdoor String Lights 2. I’ve been eyeing these lights for a while, and finally decided to give them a try over the weekend. Let me walk you through my installation journey and some tips I picked up along the way!

Installation Process

I decided to install the lights around my patio and hot tub area. The string lights are 144ft long, which was perfect for covering the space without feeling too overwhelming. I ended up using two sections of the string for now, as I couldn’t figure out a way to hang the third section without blocking my umbrella stand.

To secure the lights, I used a combination of zip ties and gutter clips. On one side, I ran a cable between the poles to ensure the diagonal strings wouldn’t sag, and on the house side, I relied on the gutter clips for a cleaner look. It took a bit of trial and error, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Tips & Tricks

  1. Color Coordination: I set the lights to match the color of the hot tub’s interior lights, creating a cohesive and relaxing ambiance. It’s such a subtle touch, but it makes a huge difference!
  2. Future Plans: I’m thinking of adding a pergola in the future, which would allow me to fully utilize the entire 144ft string. Stay tuned for that project!
  3. Zip Ties & Clips: Don’t underestimate the power of zip ties and gutter clips! They helped me secure the lights without damaging the structure or the walls.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the installation was a fun DIY project, and the end result is absolutely stunning. The lights create such a warm and inviting atmosphere, especially in the evenings. I’m already brainstorming other areas in my home where I can use these lights—maybe the backyard or even indoors for a cozy vibe!
