I’ve been really impressed with my new Govee smart light strips. They’re so easy to set up and the color options are endless! I’ve placed them along the base of my walls and they really brighten up the room. I wanted to share how I integrated them into my Home Assistant setup for some cool automations.
First, I connected them through my Zigbee hub and set up a few simple rules. For example, when I turn on my TV, the lights dim automatically to create the perfect movie-watching ambiance. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a huge difference in my daily routine.
I also created a scene where the lights change color based on the time of day. In the morning, they’re a bright white to help me wake up, and in the evening, they shift to a warm amber to signal it’s time to wind down. It’s amazing how much these little adjustments can impact my mood and daily rhythm.
One thing I struggled with at first was setting up the automations correctly. I kept getting errors until I realized I needed to adjust the trigger conditions. After some trial and error, everything works smoothly now.
