Hi everyone! I recently purchased the Govee Smart Thermometer R1 (Model # H5108+H5151) with the WiFI Gateway, and I wanted to share my experience and some thoughts on how this device could be improved.
First off, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the device’s versatility. I’ve tested it in my freezer, with my Govee Diffuser, and even in my pool. The ability to monitor temperatures across such diverse environments is fantastic, and the app provides clear and real-time updates.
However, there are a few areas where I think Govee could make some enhancements. For starters, having only one probe feels limiting. I’d love to see wireless probes as an option, especially for users who need to monitor multiple locations simultaneously. Additionally, while the device works well in my pool, I wish it were fully waterproof to handle more rugged outdoor conditions without any issues.
Another feature I’d appreciate is the ability to have the device auto-power on and off. This would be particularly useful for scenarios where constant monitoring isn’t necessary, but quick checks are. Lastly, while the device works well with the Govee app, I’d love to see Matter support built-in instead of requiring a separate gateway. This would streamline the integration process with other smart home devices.
Overall, the Govee Smart Thermometer R1 is a solid product with great potential. I’m excited to see how Govee continues to innovate and improve their devices. If anyone else has tips or experiences with this product, I’d love to hear them! Happy experimenting! ![]()
