H9w to use Tap to Unlock U400 with Galaxy S25 Ultra, step by step

Hooked up the U400, No Hub, but have Alexa Echo Dot Max which has Thread Border Router, also have Smart Things 3 Hub.
I setup a Digital Jey in Samsung Wallet which serms to be linked with Smart Things.
When I tap my phone to the lock, Nothing happens.
Fingerprint and code both work.
What am I missing ?
Whats the step by step setup orocess for Tap to Connect for Galaxy S25 Ultra ?

The S25 Ultra should be compatible, but the key part is that Samsung Wallet tap-to-unlock only works after the U400 has been added to SmartThings as a Matter device and the Digital Home Key is issued from that SmartThings setup flow.

Having the lock working in Aqara, or having an Alexa Thread Border Router, is not enough by itself. For Samsung Wallet Digital Home Key, the lock needs to be connected through SmartThings with a compatible SmartThings/Samsung Matter hub/gateway. A SmartThings/Aeotec V3 hub should be suitable if it is fully updated and visible in SmartThings as the hub for the home.

Suggested setup:

  1. Update the U400 firmware first — Samsung Wallet support needs U400 firmware v3104 or newer.
  2. Update the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung Wallet, SmartThings, Samsung Digital Key and Digital Key Framework.
  3. In SmartThings, add the U400 as a Matter over Thread device by scanning the Matter code or using a new Matter pairing code from Aqara if it has already been paired elsewhere.
  4. Make sure the SmartThings hub/gateway is online and reasonably close to the lock during pairing.
  5. During or after SmartThings onboarding, look for the prompt to add the Digital Home Key to Samsung Wallet. The Wallet key should show as a home/lock key for the U400, not just a generic SmartThings link.
  6. Turn NFC on, then tap the back/upper area of the phone against the U400’s NFC area on the keypad and hold it there briefly.

If there is no prompt to add the key to Samsung Wallet, then the lock has not completed the Samsung/Aliro onboarding correctly. Remove the lock from SmartThings, clear/reset the Matter binding on the lock, update everything, and add it again through SmartThings.

Also worth checking: Chinese-region Samsung Wallet is not supported, and regional rollout may vary. If the Wallet key exists but tapping still does nothing, reboot the phone, check NFC is enabled, remove/re-add the Wallet key, and confirm the lock is still online in SmartThings.
