I’ve been using the new battery-powered Aqara FP300 Presence Sensor as part of my Halloween setup, and it’s been working great! I temporarily mounted the sensor under the eaves of my house, and it detects trick-or-treaters as they approach different spots in front of the house. Each detection triggers a specific Aqara Smart RGB LED T2 bulb or Aqara US Version Smart Plug that controls various Halloween effects.
Some of the “startle scare” elements stay completely dark until a presence is detected—then the Aqara lights flash on suddenly, highlighting the props while spooky sound effects play from speakers connected to the smart plugs.
I even put an Aqara Motion Sensor P1 inside a pumpkin near my front door. That one is connected to another Aqara US Version Smart Plug powering a small soundbox hidden inside the pumpkin. When someone gets close, it comes alive and greets them with random spooky phrases!
It’s been a fun way to combine Aqara’s smart home devices with some classic Halloween scares.
