Hardwiring Motion Sensors for Winter Efficiency

Winter is here, and with it comes the inevitable struggle of frozen batteries in my garage. I’ve been using Aqara contact sensors, but they’ve become a hassle during the colder months. I stumbled upon the Frient contact sensor, which uses AAA batteries, and thought it might be a better fit. However, I’m still not thrilled about replacing batteries every few months. That’s why I’m exploring the idea of hardwiring these sensors to an outlet.

I’ve come across some helpful resources suggesting that this is possible, but I’m not entirely sure how to go about it without soldering. I’m considering using an adapter or outlet that can power multiple sensors. If anyone has experience with hardwiring motion or contact sensors, I’d love to hear your tips or advice. Maybe even setting up a system where 2-3 sensors can share a single power source? It would be a game-changer for maintaining my smart home setup during the winter.

I’m also curious if others have faced similar issues and how they’ve resolved them. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :adult::wrench::snowflake:
