Help in combining aqara products with multiple homes and eco systems

Ok sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area , however I am reasonably new to Aqara , having recently tried a couple of products and like them so have decided to expand more Aqara into my home.
I have a relatively complexed situation and am having difficulties in getting them all to play nicely .

Home 1 ( Aqara M3 + multiple devices + Apple Home + Homey Pro + Alexa as well as other hubs such as SmartThings and Hue )
Home 2 ( Apple Home , Tapo home base + Alexa )
Home 3 ( Aqara G3 camera hub + G410 Doorbell )

Ok so the crux of the matter is that I needed to put in a smart doorbell in home 3 ( and I will be wanting to do the same in home 2 as well at some point ) so as I was investing in the Aqara products I thought I would use this as a tester for future expansion , I read that you could bridge 2 Aqara hubs on different WiFi networks , so I purchased the G3 security camera as well although I now realise the g410 also has a built in hub , although I didn’t really need an internal security camera I thought it would be handy to have a duel usage product and I didn’t really want to spend money on a M3 hub just for 1 device or did I want to buy an Apple TV or pod for a home server as neither of them would be used for anything but the Apple hub part .

Installed the g410 and G3 in home 3 and connected to the Aqara App and all is hunky Dorey , although I still need to play with them to set them up correctly as I am gettimg pinged every few minutes with notifications , and Aqara setup doesn’t seem be as easy as Tapos for AI face recognition etc but that’s another story .

I read that once I returned to Home 1 I could bridge the two hubs onto the M3 , the reason I wanted to do this is so I could see the cameras in Apple Home as a central location for viewing security cameras , doorbells etc and the M3 is bridged to Homey Pro and Apple Home and there for see feeds and alerts on my TV or other devices .
Homey Pro works well with Aqara but won’t work with any matter cameras including Aqara and so I’m left with Apple Home as a central hub.

I tried to bridge the G3 and the M3 with no success so Apple can’t see the external devices/cameras , I read you had to merge/migrate the two hubs together onto the M3 which I did , but all that happened there is it deleted my G3 from the app altogether , luckily I had someone going to home 3 so I gave them Aqara permissions and they re-added the device to the app.

The M3 hub now seems a bit flakey after the migration of the G3 hub , network errors and such , but seems to be generally working .

So basically I need the M3 hub to see both the devices in Home 3 so I may bridge them to either Apple home or Homey Pro .

Any ideas anyone ?

And sorry for the wall of text

@glenfieldjsy It sounds like you’re dealing with a multi-home smart setup, which can definitely get tricky—thanks for sharing the details! Let’s try to troubleshoot the hub migration issue first, since that seems to be the core of connecting Home 1 and Home 3.

From what you described, migrating the G3 hub to the M3 resulted in the G3 being deleted and the M3 acting flaky. According to the troubleshooting guide for hub migration failures, there are a few key steps to check:

  1. Upgrade firmware: Ensure both the M3 and G3 hubs are on the latest firmware version. Outdated firmware can cause migration glitches.
  2. Check network signal: Before migration, confirm the M3 has a strong network connection. Weak signals might disrupt the process.
  3. Factory reset the old hub post-migration: After migrating devices from the G3 to the M3, the G3 should be factory reset. If not, it might interfere with the migrated devices.

Since you mentioned the M3 is now having network errors, double-checking its Wi-Fi signal strength and rebooting the router could help stabilize it.

As for bridging hubs across different Wi-Fi networks—unfortunately, the reference info doesn’t mention support for cross-network bridging. It’s possible this might not be a supported feature yet. For seamless integration with Apple Home, ensuring both hubs are on the same local network might be necessary, but that’s just a hypothesis.

If the migration issues persist after trying the steps above, reaching out to customer support would be the best next step. They can dive deeper into your specific setup.
