Help Me Understand Behavior of H2 Dimmer Switch (US)

I’ve got an H2 dimmer switch. It’s in Zigbee mode and working through my Aqara M3 hub. I’ve got all 3 switches on the H2 in decoupled mode. The firmware on the H2 is up to date.

There is a Philips smart light fixture wired behind the H2 switch. This is a Wiz device.

I’m running everything through Home Assistant. The M3 hub is a Matter bridge to Home Assistant, exposing all of the Matter and Zigbee devices connected to the M3.

I would like to use the H2 switch for its buttons and always keep the power provided to the Philips light (from the H2). But whenever I use the Wiz app to turn the Philips fixture off, after a while my H2 shows all parts offline in the Aqara app. All is forgiven when I turn the Philips fixture back on (using the Wiz app), but I hate seeing all of those error conditions in the Aqara app when nothing is wrong. I suspect the H2 has figured out that the Philips fixture is not in a normal state, so it reports the H2 as offline.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello, these problems may be related to the connection of H2. If you connected H2 without a neutral wire, then this may be the case (not in the network) when the lamp is off. How did you connect H2?

I don’t believe there was a neutral wire available when I installed the H2.

Hello @patrick_peters
If you use a connection without a neutral, you need to install a capacitor so that H2 does not disappear from the network.

Can you give me more detail about adding that capacitor? What size capacitor and where should it be installed?
