Help. Volt transformer for G4

Hey guys, I need your help.

I bought the G4 last year, and ever since then my plan has been to use it wired. The problem is that my house is really old, and I’ve had a lot of trouble getting it to work that way.

I bought one transformer from Amazon. ChatGPT told me it would work perfectly, but it didn’t.

I can keep buying batteries or get one of those rechargeable battery packs, but ultimately I’d love to wire this thing properly and forget about it.

Can you please recommend a transformer that you know for sure will work with the G4? I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have successfully wired theirs and can confirm the exact model they’re using.

Thanks in advance!

Hey @jmariolozano!

I picked this one up on amazon a while ago when I had a Logitech doorbell but once that bit the dust, I picked up an Aqara G410 and its worked great for that one too. Only thing is it’s tied to building power. Maybe others on the form have had a good experience with a wall plug one.

Hi, I would recommend getting 24V 50V/A for more reliable operation.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what country you are in.

When you say your house is old, and you’ve been having problems getting it to work that way, can you be more precise?

e.g., I like in the UK. I have an 1850’s granite house where most of the wiring is 40 to 50 years old.

I used to have a Netatmo Doorbell, and used the power supply that that had… but Aqara also sell a power supply.

Hello.
Yes, it will ensure normal operation. Don’t forget to check the quality of the low-voltage power wires (if they are already in the wall), as this affects how much the voltage will drop directly at the G
