Help with G400 with Google Home and Chime

Good afternoon,

I’ve just bought the Aqara G400 and I’m having some setup issues with Google Home, as neither the Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) nor the Nest Mini activates when the doorbell is pressed. However, it works correctly with Alexa, HomeKit and the internal doorbell itself. What can I do to get the Google Home speakers to announce that someone has rung the doorbell?

Also, is it possible to set a custom MP3 ringtone for the internal doorbell? The one that connects via USB-C.

Let’s see if any of my fellow @Experts use Google Home - I can’t personally provide guidance there.

On the custom ringtone, Yes! David provided the steps here and even has a video demo.

1. Upload your MP3 file to the doorbell’s Custom Quick Replies section.
2. Once uploaded, go to:

• Doorbell Master Settings
• Sound Settings
• Doorbell Outdoor Unit Ringtone

3. Your uploaded MP3 should now appear as an available ringtone option.
4. Select it and set your preferred number of rings.

That’s it—your custom ringtone is now active!

The G400 internal unit can not accept ringtones. It’s an RF433 device that is pared the the G400 and is not even required for full operation.

Thank you, then, can i buy another one like the chime of the G410? It can use ringtones.
