Hey , Share a little Siri + Aqara journey I’ve been on lately. I’m kinda new to home automation (been tinkering for about 3 months now), and integrating voice control into my setup was the biggest game changer so far.
Using HomeKit and Aqara devices together has been surprisingly smooth. I’ve got my lights, thermostat, and even my curtains on voice control now. Just saying “Hey Siri, good night” dims the lights, lowers the blinds, and sets the temp to 68°F. Pure magic.
A few tips I picked up:
- Rename your devices to something Siri can easily recognize. “Bedroom Lamp” works better than “Lamp 1” or “Yeelight-blah-blah”.
- Group accessories into scenes or rooms in the Home app. That way, “Hey Siri, movie time” actually feels like movie time.
- Set up automations with a bit of logic. For example, I added a shortcut so when I say “Hey Siri, I’m home,” it turns on the hallway light but only after 6 PM.
