What is everyone’s solution for utilizing PF2’s thought HomeKit? It’s got a few bugs to work out, but i’m curious to know how everyone has theirs laid out!
Getting the zones properly labeled in HK was a nightmare, but once those were setup, the responsiveness of sensor-to-light is remarkably quick. Every light is a Nanoleaf bulb, have a matter and thread bridges in every room. Then uses Aqara buttons to trigger HK scenes thought the house.
@client_tads1n It sounds like you’ve put a lot of effort into setting up your Presence Sensor FP2 with HomeKit! The process can indeed be a bit challenging, especially when it comes to getting zones properly labeled. It’s great to hear that once set up, the responsiveness of the sensor to your Nanoleaf bulbs is quick and efficient.
For those who might be facing similar challenges, here are a few tips based on the reference information about the Presence Sensor FP2:
-
Zone Detection: FP2 supports up to 30 detection zones. You can edit these zones directly in the Aqara Home App and synchronize them with HomeKit. This feature allows for fine-tuned automation, such as triggering scenes when entering specific areas.
-
Integration with Apple HomeKit: Ensure your phone and the home hub (e.g., HomePod) are on the same local network. If issues arise, such as Error Code 74, it may indicate that the hub is offline or not on the same network as your phone.
-
Troubleshooting: If the FP2 goes offline, it might be due to distance from the Wi-Fi router or interference from metal obstacles. Moving the device closer to the router and ensuring no obstructions can help maintain a stable connection.
Your setup using Aqara buttons to trigger HomeKit scenes is an excellent way to enhance the smart home experience. These devices offer a lot of flexibility and can significantly enhance automation processes.

I am using it in HK. But each zone displays in HK all as the same name. And sometimes by renaming one of the zones renames all of them. So i have to trouble shoot which one is which and move each zone item to its correct room in order to label and organize them. the manual trial and error gets annoying. i look forward this this feature being ironed out hopefully in a spftwhere update for the Gen 2 but definitely for the Gen 3!
