Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up remote control for Home Assistant and how I managed to keep location tracking working even when the HA app isn’t active. 
I’ve been using Home Assistant for a while now, and one of the most useful features I’ve discovered is the Remote UI setup. It allows me to control my smart home from any browser, which is super handy when I’m not near my phone. But I ran into a bit of a snag with location tracking—it relies on the HA app, and I noticed it stops working when I switch to the browser interface.

After some research, I realized that port forwarding might be the key to keeping everything connected. I set up port forwarding on my router to allow remote access to my Home Assistant instance. This way, I can control my devices from anywhere, and my location tracking still works seamlessly! 
Here’s a quick tip for anyone else dealing with this: Make sure your router settings allow for consistent port forwarding, and double-check your firewall settings to ensure they’re not blocking the necessary ports.
