Hi. I am having issue with home assistant integration. Whats the best way to integrate Aqara cameras in HA? I used Apple before and streaming was smooth, but can’t really find way to get the same experience in HA

@arturs_savickis For Aqara cameras in Home Assistant, the “best” path really depends on which Aqara camera model you have and what kind of integration you’re aiming for (local stream vs cloud vs Matter bridging).
Option 1: Add the camera to Home Assistant via HomeKit Controller
If your Aqara camera supports HomeKit, you can pair it directly into HA using the HomeKit Controller integration, which is often the most straightforward way to get a stable experience similar to what you had in Apple Home:
- Make sure the camera is reset and not paired to another HomeKit controller
- In Home Assistant: Settings → Devices & services → Add integration → HomeKit Controller
- Select the discovered device and enter the HomeKit pairing code to finish pairing
Option 2: RTSP (only for specific models)
If you were hoping to bring the camera stream in via RTSP: Aqara Camera Hub G3 does not support RTSP—currently only the Aqara G5 Pro supports RTSP in the Aqara lineup mentioned in the forum references.
So if you’re on a G3, you won’t be able to replicate a classic “RTSP into HA” setup with that model.
