Home security system (ideas)

I know there is a basic security system built-in into Aqara hubs, but i would like to go little bit more advanced. I am OK with wireless sensors (especially door sensors and presence sensors from Aqara are amazing), but I would love to combine that with some kind of louder siren that is standalone (not built-in in the hub itself). And maybe some battery back-up fot the hub as I would love to have the system online even when the power is down. The hub itself does not drain too much power, but standard UPSes are not going to last long even when the load is minimal.

Yes, I know I can use Home Assistant for that, but I would like to explore “more native” options to enhance standard Aqara alarm system with some (possibly 3rd party) additions that would fix the most important parts that are missing. Before I go crazy with HA.

Home Assistant solutions are also welcome.

Thank you for your ideas

I am thinking the same myself.

For cameras I got the G5 POE version and I ran cables to a central position (during a renovation).

For ups, I am planning to get some kind of a solar battery that supports the ups functionality like this EcoFlow Blog ZA | Power Solutions for Load-Shedding & Off-Grid Living | EcoFlow DE. I think 1kwh would be enough.

For a siren, there aren’t any matter sirens I know. I will probably go with a normal one and add a smart relay to turn on/off.

I also don’t know any mermaids that could be added natively. What I do have is an automation, that if the siren sounds through the HomePod, a siren sounds.
