I have two U200 locks - both recently updated to 3.0.0.0084 in search of home key functionality. But still not working as intended. I and my wife can unlock the first lock with our homekeys, but both kids cannot even though they have the homekey in their wallet and in express mode.
The second lock does not respond at all to any homekey attempts from any of us. There is also no “restore Homekey access” menu under “manage access” for that lock in Apple home.
I thought maybe a matter reset was needed on the second lock but none of the procedures work:
1: Hold lock key for 5 seconds just locks the lock - nothing more
2: Pressing the confirm button for 3 seconds and the set button on the lock just blinks red and nothing happens.
Any ideas?

Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue. We truly appreciate your patience as we look into it.
You could also try moving the lock closer to your HomePod/Apple TV, then removing and reinserting the lithium battery in the lock to power cycle it.
This is actually the first time we’ve encountered this particular Home Key behavior, so your detailed feedback is extremely helpful. To assist you better, could you please provide the following details?
- iOS Version: Let us know which iOS version you and your family members are currently using.
- Home Hub Status: Could you also confirm whether your HomePod or Apple TV (acting as your home hub) is updated to the latest software?
Once we have this information, our technical team can investigate further and provide you with a more tailored solution. We’ve already escalated this case for deeper analysis and will keep you updated as soon as we have more insights.
In the meantime, you might want to check the distance between your Home Hub device (HomePod/Apple TV) and the lock, as connectivity issues can sometimes occur if they’re too far apart.
Please don’t hesitate to share any additional details. We’re here to help!
@tuemadsen Let’s break down the possible solutions based on your situation:
For the first U200 (kids can’t use HomeKey):
Check if your kids are set as “family users” in the HomeKit app—sometimes HomeKey access is restricted to family members. This is a common oversight with shared access .
For the second U200 (no HomeKey response & missing “Restore Home Key Access”):
- Update your devices: The “Restore Home Key Access” feature requires iOS/tvOS 18.4.1 or later. Ensure your iPhone and HomePod (or Apple TV) are updated to this version .
- Firmware check: Even though you updated to 3.0.0.0084, confirm the lock’s firmware is fully applied (sometimes updates take a few minutes to finalize).
For the Matter reset issue:
The correct procedure for resetting Matter on U200 is:
- Long press the “√” (confirm) button on the keypad.
- Verify the administrator password.
- Press the number “4” on the keypad to reset Matter .
If you tried holding the lock key alone, that’s likely why it didn’t work—this step requires the “√” button and admin verification.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider checking your HomeKit home configuration (e.g., creating a new home in the app) or resetting your HomePod Mini, as connection quirks can sometimes interfere .
Let me know if you try these—happy to help troubleshoot further!
